It's funny how life changes, until yesterday you were a hard working employee that your company took pride of and today you transform into an idiotic love-struck fellow who continuously checks his inbox to see if any message has popped up. Same thing happened to me; I never thought I would be so close to love.
It was a normal Friday evening, I had to go to the regular venue, play some contemporary and classic numbers. Nothing was extraordinary until she replied - "where are we going"? I was nervous, if this was a face to face question not a single word would have come out of my mouth. But thank god, the question arrived in my inbox. And as for my band mates, they are cool and they know that I have fallen for this girl from head over heels. And they replied me with a text that was least expected - it's your day my boy enjoy.
Ok let's go into to details, this is what I did. I bought a one-day data pack which I had never done before, left office an hour ago and waited for her impatiently. Unlike others, I was not concerned about how I look or what dress should I wear. Instead, I was confused on how to say "hello". And, for an hour I just kept staring at my mobile screen and practicing my "hello" tone. I even waved my hand and said hello to few pedestrians walking on the street, which obviously made me look like an idiot. Finally, I figured out the correct tone and took a decision.
Then I received a text saying "pugyau", she told me to wait for few minutes until her boss leaves the office. The tension was building; have you ever felt your heart beat so fast that it could even surpass the drum beat of an "Iron Maiden" song? Then she arrived with a big stretched smile on her face. And as expected, she looked gorgeous. But, all of a sudden I also felt that god was kind to me on that day. She wore that pretty green dress which I adored and covered her hypnotic eyes with a classic spec. This I can attest, I saw beauty at the best. Wow!!!
I always thought she was a grumpy and stubborn girl but things were just the opposite. She was the nicest girl I had ever met. At first glimpse, she looks cute, beautiful, charming and everything in between. And, then she asked in a soothing tone "where will we go", ah that was the most beautiful voice that I had ever heard. I told her "I will take you somewhere special" as I started my bike. Sorry, that was not my bike; my bike went rouge the previous day and I borrowed one from my friend.
Then we went to Roadhouse Cafe, as it was the only restaurant I knew in Jhamsikhel that catered delicious food. The ambiance of the restaurant was homely. Firstly, we sat on a small table with two uncomfortable chairs, as I was the fat one a quick thought knocked into my head - I am going to get cramps today. But things got uncomfortable and we were compelled to switch to another table. And the best thing happened, she talked!!!! And it was not just regular "haha" or "hai", it was long sentences and I felt like talking with a person with whom I was going out for years. Then our order was placed on the table, I was nervous again and I eat when I'm nervous. So, I took a slice of pizza and started chewing abnormally, bad manners! I forgot to mention about drinks, confusing shit. So, I recommended her a drink, totally confused, but the name sounded fun "Mickey Mouse". I said you should try this, but when drink arrived it looked nasty. It was just normal coke with a creamy topping and few slices of cherry. Another thought struck my head, I am never recommending any drinks to anyone ever again.
She had the first sip of the drink. Then the two parts of my brain started polling, will she like it or will she hate it. Then she said "the drink is ok, but tastes just like coke" but here's what I guessed she said - the drink is nasty, and I'm not letting you choose my drink anymore. Also, I had asked my foodie friend about the best desert. She told me - you should try "Tiramisu", it's great. But, when the dish arrived it was just half of a slice of a normal cake. And the debate started, the beautiful lady sitting in front of me said it tasted like cheesecake, while I thought it tasted nothing more than normal vanilla cake with a bit of pineapple seasoning.
Hours passed, I was mesmerized by her voice, smile, the way she ate and a regular Friday night turned into a blissful evening, for me. Here comes the worst part, the hands of the clock had already reached eight and she was getting late. So, we asked for the bill and left the place, sad isn't it? Then, I dropped her home but I had few gifts in my bag. But, I was too afraid to give em' all. So, I plucked out the chocolate boxes and only presented the useful gift that she could use in her daily life.
For me, life has always been full of surprises. And till date, this was the most beautiful thing that happened to me. I don't know whether she likes me, wants to be friends or not. But, it was a small effort from my side that I could give to a person whom I adore so much. I knew her mind was made up and the dream would soon be over, so I had a last glimpse of her face and left.
Have I been overly romantic, but guess who gives a shit. All the facts mentioned above are truth. haha!!!!!
